The Association of Guangdong Shoes Manufacturers was officially established on March 28, 1990. Its members include shoes and machinery manufacturers, leather suppliers, raw material suppliers, domestic and international traders. Individual or company membership is available. It consists of several divisions according to their functions. They are the Committee of Professional Leather Shoes, the Committee of Professional

Leather Shoes, the Committee of Towns and Village Enterprises, the Committee of Trade and Commerce and the Committee of Economic and Trade of Guangdong Province as the major business department. The aims of the association are:
• To improve the management and production standard of enterprises
• To ensure the legal rights of enterprises and their smooth operation
• To explore domestic and overseas market
• To be the bridge of government and enterprises
In order to strengthen the communication between enterprises and overseas association, we co-operate with the Hong Kong Economy Journal and Southern Daily News Group to publish a magazine called <<Global Footwear>> every month. The magazine is distributed worldwide. The readers include manufacturers and traders of footwear industry in China and Far East Asia.
The major duties of the association are:
1. To organize and assist members to join overseas and domestic exhibitions
2. To enhance information flow and resources integration between members and overseas footwear enterprises by organizing tour and visit
3. To provide information and enquiry services for investors and overseas organizations
4. To assist members to set up online exhibition and e-commerce
5. to assist members to advertise in <<Global Footwear>>at preferred rate
6. To settle disputes among members and handle complaints from general public
7. To assist members to improve quality and build their own brand
8. To enlarge the influences of the association by getting more member
9. The association will organize members to hold training, seminar and activities to get mutual benefits.
The official web site in English version, http://www.cantonshoes.com, will be launched at the fourth quarter this year. It will surely be the most popular and efficient platform for us to meet business partners in the global footwear industry.
